Copper anodes

The copper anodes (and/or aluminium anodes) of our anti fouling (ICAF/MGPS) system mounted in the sea chest, strainer or under a boxcooler are connected to a power unit. This power unit ensures that the anodes dissolves the required amount of copper (or aluminium) to the sea water to create ambient conditions precluding fouling (marine growth).

The perfect protection is guaranteed under all conditions and the amount of dissolved material is minimized to prolong the lifetime of the copper anodes. The functioning principle is based on an artificially triggered voltage difference between the copper anodes and steel plates of the sea chest. As the copper dissolves into the sea water, an ambient environment is created precluding fouling and protecting the sea water pipes.

The Power Unit of the system ensures that the copper anodes add the exact required amount of copper particles to the seawater. Perfect protection is guaranteed under all conditions and the amount of dissolved copper is minimized to prolong the lifetime of the anodes.
